Competition for the position of teaching assistant professor in the Semiconductors Division of the Faculty of Physics

The Vice-Rector for General Affairs announces an open competition for the position of teaching assistant professor in the Semiconductors Division of the Faculty of Physics, Warsaw University of Technology, which shall be the primary place of employment as defined by the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 478)

Candidates are required to have:

1)      completed higher education with a Master's degree or equivalent in the field of Technical Physics;

2)      a PhD degree in physics;

3)      fluency in English and Polish;

4)      knowledge of issues related to the conduct of laboratory classes, in particular, proficiency in carrying out uncertainty calculations in accordance with currently accepted standards, i.e. knowledge of the various methods of calculating measurement's uncertainty and presentation techniques of final results with appropriate notation;

5)      theoretical knowledge in classical and relativistic mechanics, thermodynamics, statistical physics, optics and electromagnetism;

6)      practical competencies in techniques of solving selected physical problems in classical and relativistic mechanics, thermodynamics, statistical physics, optics and electromagnetism;

7)      practical competencies in performing measurements according to the best practice of physical experiment;

8)      basic knowledge of safety regulations and procedures when working with measuring devices;

9)      ability to work in a team;

10)   at least 5 years of experience in teaching in both Polish and English on an academic level.

 

The person applying for the post should satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2021, section 478) and
in § 118-121 of the Statute of the Warsaw University of Technology.

 

The applicants should submit the following documents:

1)      application form;

2)      CV;

3)      personal questionnaire for an applicant for employment;

4)      copy of the diploma of higher education confirming the award of a Master's degree
or equivalent;

5)      copy of the PhD diploma;

6)      list of teaching achievements;

7)      other documents confirming additional qualifications;

8)      statement acknowledging the Warsaw University of Technology as a place of primary employment as defined in the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science;

9)      statement on the doctoral school;

10)  statement that a candidate:

a)      has full legal capacity,

b)      possesses full public rights,

c)      has not been convicted of an intentional offence or intentional fiscal offence by
a valid court judgment,

d)      has not been punished with the disciplinary penalty referred to in Art. 276 section 1, points 7 and 8 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Acts of 2020, item 85, as amended).

 

The above documents should be submitted within the time limit from the date

of announcement August 11, 2021 to  September 10, 2021

The results of the competition will be announced by: September 30, 2021

 

The Warsaw University of Technology reserves the right to close the competition without selecting a candidate and without giving any reason.

Failure to provide information about the results of the competition is tantamount to the rejection of the application.

Winning the competition is not a guarantee of employment.
