We offer second stage (MSc) studies in the field of Technical Physics (in Polish) and in the field of Photonics (in English).

Second stage (MSc) studies in Polish in the field of Technical Physics are addressed to graduates of studies related to Technical Physics (including Photonics), who have obtained the professional title of engineer or bachelor's degree. The studies last 3 or 4 semesters and concern one of the 5 specializations:

  • advanced materials physics
  • nuclear physics and technology
  • data mining and interdisciplinary modeling
  • applied optics
  • medical physics

The faculty also offers second stage (MSc) studies in English in the field of "Photonics". These studies are free of charge for: Polish citizens and citizens of European Union member states, the Swiss Confederation or member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) - parties to the agreement on the European Economic Area and their family members residing in the territory of the Republic of Poland

Technical Physics (in Polish)

Second stage studies in the field of Technical Physics may be implemented in the three-semester system for graduates of the same field of study and (related specialization), or in the four-semester system, if the candidate has completed studies with a similar program scope.

More specifically, the second-cycle studies in the field of Technical Physics last:

  •  three semesters for students who have an engineering degree in Technical Physics and during their previously completed studies have completed courses and completed a thesis, for a total of at least 30 ECTS points in the field of declared in second-cycle studies

and

  • four semesters for graduates of other faculties and graduates of Technical Physics who do not meet the above condition.

In the case of four-semester studies, the candidate is required to supplement the study program with additional subjects of 30 ECTS points. In particular, for those admitted to second-cycle studies with a bachelor's degree obtained after 6-semester studies, 120 ECTS credits are required for second-cycle studies (which means the necessity to complete 4-semester second-cycle studies). Three-semester studies start with the summer semester, while four-semester studies start with the winter semester.

Photonics (in English)

Second stage studies in the field of Photonics may be carried out in the three-semester system for graduates of the same field of study and in the four-semester system, if the candidate has completed studies with a similar curriculum profile (i.e. whose education programs cover at least 60% of the learning outcomes shown in the Photonics study program) ).

Second-cycle studies in Photonics last:

  • three semesters for students who have an engineering degree in Photonics or Technical Physics with a specialization in Optoelectronics,

and

  • four semesters (which require 120 ECTS) for other graduates ( the fields of study indicated in the Recruitment Resolution.

Graduates of the Photonics major are required to demonstrate English proficiency at C1 Academic level. Three-semester studies start with the summer semester, while four-semester studies start with the winter semester.
