Postdoctoral position in experimental Heavy-Ion Physics offered for activity in the HADES experiment at FAIR/GSI

Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Experimental Heavy-Ion Physics within the HADES experiment

The Heavy Ion Collision Group at the Faculty of Physics at Warsaw University of Technology participates in the the experiments HADES at GSI, CBM at FAIR, STAR at BNL, ALICE and NA61/SHINE at CERN.

The HADES group specializes in measurements of two-particle femtoscopic correlations analysis. We closely cooperate with the CBM, STAR, and ALICE groups at WUT.

The successful candidate will work with Professor Hanna Zbroszczyk on the HADES experiment at GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung, focusing on studies of two-particle correlations in the frame of the FAIR Phase-0 progam. Responsibilities include data analysis and publication of results, collaboration service work, mentoring students, and support of the Heavy Ion Reaction Group's research activities. Occasional travel to GSI will be required. The successful candidate is expected to play a leading role in studies of femtoscopic correlations in the HADES experiment. The successful candidate will be employed as a research assistant professor at the Faculty of Physics at WUT, within the project "Exploration of QCD Phase Diagram Studying Properties of Strongly Interacting Matter with the HADES and CBM experiments at GSI/FAIR", funded by the National Science Centre, Poland, for an initial period of 12 months. The contract can be extended up to 24 months, provided the satisfactory outcome of the evaluation after the first 12 months.
