Competition for the position of Assistant Professor in the Structural Research Division

Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology announces a competition for the position of Assistant Professor (in the following employee group: teaching; field of natural science, discipline: physical science) in the Structural Research Division of the Faculty of Physics at the Warsaw University of Technology, which shall be the primary place of employment as defined by the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science hereinafter referred to as ‘the Law’.

1. Candidates are required to have:

1)       completed higher education with a master’s degree or equivalent

2)       a PhD degree

3)       fluency in English and Polish

4)      a scientific profile related to the specialization of the Division

5)      knowledge of issues related to the conduct of laboratory classes, in particular, proficiency in carrying out uncertainty calculations in accordance with currently accepted standards, i.e. knowledge of the various methods of calculating measurement's uncertainty and presentation techniques of final results with appropriate notation;

6)      practical competencies in techniques of solving selected physical problems in classical mechanics, thermodynamics, statistical physics, optics, and electromagnetism;

7)      abilities to perform experiments with optical absorption and fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy;

8)      practical competencies in performing measurements according to the best practice of physical experiment;

9)      basic knowledge of safety regulations and procedures when working with measuring devices;

10)   ability to work in a team;

11)   at least 5 years of experience in teaching in both Polish and English on an academic level.

2. The person applying for the post should satisfy the requirements set forth in the Law on Higher Education and Science and in § 118-121 of the Warsaw University of Technology Statute.

3. Candidates shall submit the following documents:

1)     a letter of application to the Vice-Rector for General Affairs

2)     a CV

3)     Candidate’s Personal Information form

4)     copy of the diploma of higher education confirming the obtained master’s degree or an

equivalent degree

5)     a certified copy of the PhD diploma

6)     a list of research, teaching and organizational output and achievements

7)     other documents certifying additional qualifications

8)     acknowledgement of WUT as a primary place of employment, as defined in the Act of

Law on Higher Education and Science

9)     a declaration on:

a)       the full capacity to perform acts in law

b)       enjoying full civil rights

c)       not being convicted by a valid sentence for an intentional crime or an intentional tax offence

d)       no disciplinary penalty as defined in Article 276 section 1 items 7 and 8 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 being imposed on them

e)       fulfilling the condition specified in Article 209 section 10 items 2 or 3 of the Law – if applicable

4. The aforementioned documents shall be submitted from the day of competition announcement January 20, 2023  to February 19, 2023 (within 30 days) at the Faculty of Physics WUT to the Dean of the Faculty, Koszykowa 75, room 129.

5. He competition shall be adjudicated until February 28, 2023 .

6. The Warsaw University of Technology shall reserve the right not to conclude the competition without selecting the candidate and stating the reason. 

7. Not informing the candidate about the competition results is equivalent to rejecting their application. 

8. Winning the competition shall not guarantee employment.

GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION CLAUSE

Under Article 13 of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the European Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons concerning the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation, Journal of Laws EU L 119/1 of 4 May 2016), hereinafter referred to as „GDPR”, the Warsaw University of Technology announces that:

1. The administrator of your personal data is the Warsaw University of Technology with its registered seat at pl. Politechniki 1, 00-661 Warsaw.

2. The Administrator has appointed the Inspector for Data Protection (IOD - Inspektor Ochrony Danych), who ensures that the data are processed lawfully, and can be contacted via email: iod@pw.edu.pl: iod@pw.edu.pl.

3. The Administrator shall process the personal data included in the documents related to the competition.

4. Your personal data shall be processed by the Administrator to run a competition for the position of academic teacher, in compliance with Article 6 section 1 point c) of GDPR.

5. The Warsaw University of Technology shall not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area.

6. You shall have the right to access your personal data, the right to request the correction or deletion of the data, the right to request a restriction to process your personal data, and object to processing your data. Since the data are not processed based on your consent, the right to data portability does not apply.

7. Your personal data shall not be disclosed to any other subjects (administrators) except for the subjects entitled, in compliance with generally applicable laws.

8. Subjects (processing subjects) commissioned by the Warsaw University of Technology to perform actions that may relate to personal data processing may have access to your personal data.

9. The Warsaw University of Technology shall not subject you to automated decision-making, including your profiling.

10. You shall provide your personal data voluntarily. Nevertheless, failure to do so renders it impossible to participate in a competition for the position of academic teacher.

11. Your personal data shall be processed within no longer than 3 months of closing the competition for the position of academic teacher and within a period indispensable to secure any possible claims.

12. If you think your data protection rights as specified in GDPR have been breached, you have the right to lodge a complaint to a supervising body – the Polish Data Protection Commissioner.
