Scientific plan of research
Redesign the experimental set-up, perform experiments with particles sediementing in a very viscous
fluid, collect data, analyze and model the results, write or contribute in writing joint
publications.

During the project, it will be possible to participate in international scientific collaboration
and attend scientific conferences and schools.

Requirements
• PhD and documented knowledge in science (physics, mechanics, mathematics)
• Documented knowledge of hydrodynamic interactions and hydrodynamics at Reynolds number smaller
than unity
• Documented experimental skills in studying the dynamics of particles in fluid flows
• Advanced programming skills (Matlab, Python, Fortran or C)
• Documented advanced training in mathematics and physics
• At least 2 publications in scientific journals indexed in Scopus from 2017 until now
• Motivation and skills to carry scientific work
• Meeting the requirements of the Resolution of the Scientific Council of the IPPT PAN on the rules

• Fluent English

The terms of employment:
• Funding: 10000 PLN monthly (taxes will be deducted from this amount – for pension, health insurance and income tax; the amount after subtracting taxes is around 6500 PLN monthly)
• Duration: the post is open from December 1, 2022, until June 30, 2026.

Recruitment process
1) The post-doc position is awarded according in Annex to NCN Council Resolution No 12/2021 of 5
March 2021 amending the Regulations on awarding funding for research tasks funded by the National
Science Centre as regards research projects,

2) NCN post-doc position may be awarded to a person, who meets any of the following criteria:
a) the doctoral degree was obtained in 2015 or later
b) the candidate will be selected by means of open competition procedure, carried out by a
recruitment committee appointed by the head of the project’s host entity, composed of the project’s
principal investigator as its chair and at least two other persons appointed by the principal
investigator, who have necessary scientific or professional qualifications. The assessment of the
candidates is
carried out pursuant to the criteria outlined in the call announcement and the results are made
public by posting on the website of the project’s host institution;
c) the candidate did not have the principal investigator as their research supervisor or auxiliary
supervisor of
their PhD dissertation;
d) the candidate's PhD degree has been awarded by another institution than the one planned to
employ them
at this post or they have completed a continuous and evidenced post-doctoral fellowship of at
least 10 months in another institution than the host institution for the project and in another
country than the one in which they have been conferred a PhD degree;
e) the candidate will be employed for a period of at least 6 months;
f) at the time of receiving remuneration, the candidate will not be receiving any other
remuneration paid from
the funds granted to research projects under NCN calls under the heading of direct costs;
g) in the period of receiving the remuneration the candidate will be receiving no remuneration from
another
employer pursuant to an employment contract, including an employer with registered office outside
of Poland.
