In absence of noise, it is expected that a consensus will be reached in a opinion dynamics model, starting from a totally random initial state. We show in two different models, that even when consensus is reached, there may be more than one timescale involved in the sense that in some cases, consensus is reached at unusually large times. A particular feature of such slow cases can be compared to that observed in Brexit. We will also discuss briefly the case when the initial state is not exactly random, to see whether there is minority spreading.
