Director of the Institute of Physics, co-founder and activist of NSZZ Solidarność. Decorated with the Medal of the Warsaw University of Technology. Outstanding scientist in the field of wave optics theory, particularly the theory of diffraction, integrated and non-linear optics. Author of monographs and textbooks, educator of many generations of opticians. An excellent educator and academic teacher. He inspired his attitude and aroused respect. A wonderful, kind man. His work made a great contribution to the achievements of the Faculty of Physics of the Warsaw University of Technology. We express our deepest sympathy to the professor's family.
